The Amherst County Public Schools' Comprehensive School Counseling Program provides academic, career, and personal/social support for ALL students. The program exists to ensure all students become successful, confident individuals.
ACPS School Counselors implement the comprehensive program in every school and assume shared responsibility for providing a safe and nurturing environment for all students to grow and develop. Our School Counselors are educational leaders and professional student advocates. Their duties and responsibilities are focused on the overall delivery of the total program through school counseling core curriculum, individual student planning, responsive services, and advocacy.
ACPS employs fifteen school counselors to serve the needs of approximately 4,000 students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. School counselors address academic, career, social and emotional needs of all students in the school division. To contact your child's school counselor, please visit your school's website.
