Mrs. Kim Klein began serving as Child Nutrition Supervisor of Amherst County Public Schools in 2007. Prior to her role in ACPS she was a Dietitian for the WIC program in the Central Virginia Health District.
Mrs. Klein earned her Bachelor's of Science degree in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise from Virginia Tech. She then completed her Masters of Science degree in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise from Virginia Tech with a concentration in Community Nutrition. She also completed her Dietetic Internship with the Virginia Department of Health to become a Registered Dietitian.
Mrs. Klein currently resides in Rustburg, VA with her husband Kevin. Kim and Kevin have two sons, K.J. and Kameron.

 


 Child Nutrition News

Summer 2024!  We have many summer feeding programs taking place in Amherst County this summer.  Parents/Guardians will be able to pick-up meals for any child under the age of 18 at Amherst Elementary School and Coolwell Rec Center on Mondays and Thursdays 10:30am - 12:30pm starting June 3.  The pick-ups will be in a drive-thru style service and 3 days of meals will be available on Mondays and 2 days of meals will be available on Thursdays.

This summer ACPS is partnering with the Amherst County Public Libraries to provide meals during their Wednesday programs.  Each Wednesday from 11:00am - 12:00pm meals will be provided to program participants.  Meals will be consumed onsite.

ACPS will also provide Breakfast and Lunch to all Summer School and Powerscholar participants at MHES, CES and MMS during these summer programs.

Summer EBT

Summer EBT will be issued in late July and August.  If you already receive SNAP, TANF or Income Eligible Medicaid then your student will automatically receive benefits.  If you do not qualify for these services there will be an application to fill out after July 1 to apply for Summer EBT.  More information to follow.
