Education Foundation Mini-Grants

Founded in 2003, the Amherst County Public Schools Education Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing education for the students and teachers of Amherst County. The Foundation’s goal is to secure resources from the community by raising awareness of the importance of education and developing partnerships with local businesses. Through fundraising events, sponsorships, and grants, the Education Foundation has provided over $140,000 in supplemental funds directly to teachers in the classroom.  These funds are used to purchase materials and technology that are not included in Amherst County Public School’s annual budget.
Twice a year, teachers submit proposals to the Foundation and are awarded up to $1,000 per grant based on need, as well as the number of students impacted.  Teachers are encouraged to apply for a variety of classrooms needs.
